Eahoosoft iPad Video Converter is a commercial video converter. It can convert video files to formats that the iPad can play natively, such as H.264, MPEG-4, and MOV. Pretty much any video file can be opened with this tool. I tested it with MKV and AVI files. My impressions are below.
Graphically, the application uses a very standard graphical user interface, similar to many interfaces used by other brands. It consists of a space for your conversion queue, a video player on the right, a toolbar at the top, and the conversion settings at the bottom.
In terms of performance, the app leaves a bit to be desired. First, it did open the MKV file that I tested it with, but when I tried to clip it (or trim it), the editor become unresponsive and I had to close it. The trimmer worked well with an AVI file, but it could use some work. I would like to be able to add the start and end times manually. Both the MKV and AVI file were converted just fine. The resulting files looked good enough.
In short, this app does work, but it has its problems. At $24.95, you would expect it to run smoothly and to have lots of different features. Still, it only has a video trimmer, limited format support, and a few interface problems.
